About Runes
Runes are magical enhancements that can be applied to weapons in The Forge. Each rune provides unique passive effects that trigger during combat, dramatically improving your effectiveness.
Every rune has its own set of properties: Element, Rarity, Proc Chance, Effect, and Drop Sources. Runes apply one main passive effect - additional bonuses come from secondary traits, not from the rune itself.
Element
The type of effect - Fire, Ice, Poison, etc.
Rarity
How rare the rune is - Common to Legendary.
Proc Chance
Probability of the effect triggering per hit.
Effect
The passive ability the rune provides.
Drop Source
Which enemies drop this rune.
Sell Value
How much the rune sells for.

Rune Guide
Damage Runes: Flame Spark and Blast Chip are popular choices for increasing damage output. Flame Spark adds fire damage over time, while Blast Chip provides explosive area damage. For sustained DPS, Rage Mark increases damage as you take hits.
Defensive Runes: Ward Patch provides damage reduction, making it essential for tanky builds. Drain Edge offers lifesteal, healing you with each hit. These runes are crucial for surviving boss encounters.
Utility Runes: Miner Shard is unique - it rolls ONE of four possible mining bonuses when obtained. Frost Speck and Chill Dust slow enemies, giving you more time to react. Venom Crumb applies poison for damage over time.
How to Obtain: Runes drop from enemies throughout The Forge, with rarer runes dropping from stronger enemies and bosses. Higher-tier runes require defeating late-game enemies in areas like the Forgotten Kingdom and beyond.
